Accessibility Statement
Last updated: March 21, 2026
J.A. Watte and The W-2 Trap are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
This website strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and 2.2 Level AA standards. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
Measures Taken
We have implemented the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Semantic HTML: All pages use proper semantic elements (
<header>,<main>,<nav>,<footer>,<article>) and maintain a logical heading hierarchy (h1 → h2 → h3, never skipping levels) - Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard alone. The mobile menu can be closed with the Escape key
- Skip navigation: A "Skip to content" link is provided as the first focusable element on every page
- Focus indicators: All interactive elements display a visible 3px gold focus outline with offset, meeting WCAG 2.2 SC 2.4.11 (Focus Appearance) requirements
- Color contrast: All text and background combinations meet the minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text. A high-contrast toggle is available in the site header
- Target size: All buttons, links, and interactive controls meet the minimum 44×44 pixel target size recommended by WCAG 2.2 SC 2.5.8
- Reduced motion: Animations and transitions are automatically disabled when users have enabled the "Reduce motion" preference in their operating system (WCAG 2.1 SC 2.3.3)
- Forced colors: The site supports Windows High Contrast Mode and other forced-color environments (WCAG 2.1 SC 1.4.11)
- Form accessibility: All form inputs have visible
<label>elements. Required fields are marked. Invalid inputs provide visual feedback - Image alternatives: All images include descriptive
alttext - Consistent help: Navigation and footer content appears in the same location on every page (WCAG 2.2 SC 3.2.6)
- Language support: The site is available in English and Mexican Spanish (es-MX), with proper
langattributes andhreflangtags - Text spacing: Layout does not break when users override text spacing settings (WCAG 2.1 SC 1.4.12)
- Print support: Pages are formatted for clean printing with external link URLs shown inline
